Piperkins got pigtails for the first time today! She is such a big girl!! Last night was the first night she slept without her paci. It went pretty well... she cried for about 20 minutes before settling down. We talked with her about it all through the day, and I think she understands that she's not getting it back. I am hoping that she won't even know the difference in a couple of days. Trevor and I went to Chattanooga to shoot wedding on the first, and she stayed with friends overnight... her first overnight adventure. She was totally comfortable with them! I love my girl.
So... about the bed I mentioned in my previous post that I want to build. I got the idea from Ashley and Sarah Kate (I think I like the second one better for Piper since it has sides). I like the way this guy did the feet on his barn wood coffee table (thanks Barb for pointing out his furniture on your blog!). So I have lots of ideas about how I want it to look, but not so many about how to actually build it. This is going to be a challenge for me :)
Also, I have been listening to this talk by Tim Keller and I can't stop thinking about it. He is speaking to a group of attorneys about vocation, the law, and the role of a Christian as 'cultivator'. It is so good.
Trevor is going to back to school early next week. I will miss this time... we have been together as a family so much and I hate that it has to end. But I love what he is learning and his hopes for it.

Your pictures always make me think of spring and life. I miss you guys a lot. Do you make Diaper bag type bags or just purse ones? I'd like to get a pretty one for my girl that's almost here.

Paige, I love the pigtails! And especially the pallet beds. We have a guy in our neighborhood who has a few pallets in his yard and while we were on a walk I almost asked him for them, but Justin stopped me...we already have a few too many unfinished furniture projects in our garage?, anyway, I can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteI love the bed idea! I was going to go to Ikea today to buy Benjamin a toddler bed but now I am thinking I will make one, they are so cute. I will let you know if I decide to do it and how it goes.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have been scheming up a way to do a pallet bed for our master bedroom. I LOVE the way the distressed wood looks. I can't wait to see what you come up with. I've just been introduced to Tim Keller's books and LOVE them. I've been reading 'A Reason for God' and it has really brought refreshment into my walk with God.
ReplyDeleteJenn, thank you! Hope to reconnect with you soon! Vanessa, I would really like to see how the building process goes for you! Margaret, I really like the idea of a large version of this. It definitely seems possible. I like the whole platform bed thing, and I love the look of this wood too. I haven't read the Reason for God, but I really want to! I really haven't read any of his books; I have only listened to his talks. He has shaped my thinking in a major way though.
ReplyDeleteShe is the cutest thing I have ever seen! LOVE the pigtails! Miss y'all!
